On 28 June 2017 the Regional Studies Association officially founded a non-profit Foundation in Belgium. The full title is the Regional Studies Association European Foundation, but it is more commonly known as RSA Europe.
The Trustees and Directors of the Regional Studies Association made the decision to become the Founder of a charitable foundation in Europe in order to better serve our European membership and the regional studies and regional science academic, policy and practice community in Europe.
RSA Europe shares charitable aims and objects with the Regional Studies Association for example to facilitate the highest standards of theoretical development, empirical analysis and policy debate of issues at the sub-national scale, incorporating both the urban and rural and different conceptions of space such as city-regions and interstitial spaces.
