Dr Xiaofeng Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Urban Governance and Design Thrust, Society Hub at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). She obtained her PhD in Geography from the University of Hong Kong. Her research area include political geography, the Belt and Road Initiative, transboundary and local environmental politics and governance. Her research contributes to the understanding of the processes and consequences of a rising and globalizing China.
I am deeply honored to receive support from RSA. On the occasion of RSA’s 60th anniversary, being selected for this grant aimed at scholars from emerging economies and the Global South is a tremendous privilege. The RSA’s longstanding contributions to regional and urban studies are widely recognized. This funding will lay a solid foundation for the advancement of my research and I look forward to collaborating with fellow scholars worldwide to advance the field of regional and urban studies.
