Carlos Cadena is an Associate Professor at EAFIT University (Medellin, Colombia) whose work sits at the intersection of climate governance, public policy, and community-based adaptation. With a focus on how communities organize, learn, and co-produce solutions in contexts of risk and inequality, his research advances evidence-informed approaches to urban resilience. Supported by a Regional Studies Association (RSA) Start-up Grant, Carlos will advance his research in El Pacífico neighborhood (Medellin), exploring community-based adaptation pathways to climate change and the governance conditions that enable locally grounded, scalable responses.
Carlos says:
I’m honored to receive the RSA Start-up Grant. This support makes it possible to strengthen our work with communities in Medellin, to better understand the everyday practices and collaborative arrangements that sustain adaptation in the face of climate risk.
