STELLENAUSSCHREIBUNG
In der Arbeitsgruppe „Wirtschaftsgeographie“ am Geographischen Institut der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, im Zuge des INTERREG Projekts „ClimatePol“ zum Thema Klimawandelanpassung in Kommunen in der Grenzregion Deutschland-Dänemark, ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt, spätestens aber zum 1. September 2024 eine Stelle als
Wiss. Projektmitarbeiter*in (w/m/d)
befristet bis zum 28. Februar 2027 zu besetzen. Die regelmäßige wöchentliche Arbeitszeit beträgt die einer Vollbeschäftigung (zzt. 38,7 Stunden). Das Entgelt richtet sich nach Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.
Die Aufgaben dieser Stelle sehen die Mitwirkung am Projekt ClimatePol (Information zum Projekt) in der Arbeitsgruppe Wirtschaftsgeographie in den folgenden Bereichen vor:
Beitrag zu den zentralen Forschungsfeldern des Projekts:
- Klimawandelanpassung in Kommunen
- Regionalwirtschaftliche Auswirkungen von Klimawandelanpassung
- soziotechnische Transformation in der Grenzregion
- soziale Auswirkungen von Klimawandel und Maßnahmen der Anpassung
- Durchführung der vorgesehenen Arbeitsschritte des Arbeitspakets „Investigating the regional socio-economic impacts of the climate change adaptation plans“ mit Fokus auf den regionalwirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen der Klimawandelanpassungspläne in der Grenzregion Deutschland-Dänemark (Umfrage, Interviews, Fokusgruppe)
- Unterstützung der Partnerorganisationen (v.a. SDU Kolding) im Konsortium, insbesondere bei der Durchführung einer Fallstudie in Niebüll
- Übernahme der Leitung des o.g. Arbeitspakets und Vertretung im Steering Board
- Administration des Projekts
- Eigene Forschung und Publikationen in diesem Themenbereich
Einstellungsvoraussetzung ist eine gute oder sehr gute Promotion im Bereich der Humangeographie oder angrenzenden Fächern, die Fähigkeit zur selbständigen Umsetzung empirischer wissenschaftlicher Studien, die Bereitschaft zur Teamarbeit, fließendes Deutsch-und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse (Niveau: C1). Ein Bezug zur Grenzregion Deutschland-Dänemark und Dänischkenntnisse sind keine Voraussetzung, aber von Vorteil.
Es erwartet Sie die Einbindung in ein transdisziplinäres Projektkonsortium in einem grenzübergreifenden Projekt mit starkem Anwendungsbezug und hoher thematischer Aktualität. Zudem werden Sie Teil einer internationalen Arbeitsgruppe, die einen regen inhaltlichen Austausch pflegt und Wert auf ein sehr gutes und kollegiales Arbeitsumfeld legt. Die persönliche Entwicklung und wissenschaftliche Weiterqualifizierung wird gefördert.

The working group Economic Geography in the Institute of Geography, Christian-Albrechts-University (CAU) Kiel invites applications for the position of
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
within the INTERREG project ClimatePol on the subject of climate adaptation in communities in the German and Danish border regions. The position-holder may start as soon as possible but on 1st September 2024 at the latest. The position ends on the 28th February 2027. The salary will be on the 100% TV-L 13 pay scale. The hours of work will be those of a full-time employee (currently 38.7 hours/week).
The holder of the position will be tasked to undertake research in the following areas in the ClimatePol project (project information in German) and as part of the working group Economic Geography:
Contribution to the key research areas of the project:
- Climate adaptation in communities
- Regional socio-economic implications of climate adaptation
- Socio-technical transformation in the border region
- Social implications of climate change and measures of adaptation
- Carrying out the planned steps in the work package “Investigating the regional socio-economic impacts of the climate change adaptation plans“ with a focus on the regional socio-economic impacts of climate adaptation plans in the border region Germany-Denmark (survey, interviews, focus group)
- Support of partner organisations (mainly SDU Kolding) in the consortium, primarily in carrying out a case study in Niebüll
- Take-over running the above-mentioned work package and representation on the steering board
- Administration of the project
- Own research and publications in this field of expertise
Employment condition is a good or very good PHD thesis in the field of human geography or related fields, the ability to carry out independently empirical scientific research, the preparedness to work in teams, excellent German and English language competence (level C1). Relations to the border region Germany-Denmark as well as Danish language competence are advantageous but not a condition.
You will be part of a transdisciplinary project consortium in a cross-border project with strong applied focus and relation to current regional affairs. In addition, you become part of an international working group, which enjoys regular exchange and values a collegial working atmosphere. Personal development and scientific qualification are explicitly encouraged.
