Territory, Politics, Governance is an interdisciplinary journal committed to theory and research on territorial politics and the governance of space. The journal is a forum for innovative theoretical and empirical scholarship of the highest standard, confronting topical and emergent issues as they intersect with territory, politics and governance. Elmond Bandauko is an Assistant Professor of Human Geography in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. He is also the Research Lead of the Informality and Everyday Urbanism Lab (INFELA). Before joining the University of Alberta, Dr. Bandauko completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Just and Equitable Cities at the Mui Ho Center for Cities, Cornell University, USA. Dr. Bandauko earned his PhD in Geography and Environment from the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Western Ontario. Dr. Bandauko is an interdisciplinary human geographer and critical urban scholar whose research focuses on urban informality and everyday urbanism in African cities. His work is published in leading journals in the field of urban geography such as Urban Geography, Political Geography, Urban Affairs Review, Environment and Planning D: Society and Space, Geoforum, Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, Cities, Housing Studies, Urban Research and Practice, Land use Policy, Journal of Urban Affairs, Gender, Place and Culture among others.
More about Dr. Bandauko

Filipe Teles is an Associate Professor in Political Science at the University of Aveiro, where he holds the position of Pro-rector for Regional Development and Urban Policies. He is a member of the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP), where he has developed research on governance, decentralisation, local administration, and territorial reforms. President of the European Urban Research Association between 2021-2025, with extensive international research and publication activities, he is also consultant with the World Bank and OECD on subnational governance.

Joanie Willett is an Associate Professor in Politics with the University of Exeter. Her research specialises in the politics and economics of regional development, focussing on how people, economies, communities, and geologies, geographies, and ecologies co-evolve. Joanie looks at resource economies and local government, focussing in particular on skills, finding work and local governance in critical minerals, and in nature recovery. She is co-convenor of EdgeNet, an RSA Research Network which explores questions of peripheral and rural development, and the Political Studies Association Local Government and Politics specialist group.

Susanne Wallman Lundåsen is a Senior Associate Professor of Political Science at Linköping University and a researcher at the Centre for Local Government Studies. Her research focuses on the intersections of local democracy, civil society, and governance. She has published extensively on political participation, social trust, and local governance. Her recent work examines how urban–rural divides shape citizens’ attitudes and political behavior, and the rise of local political parties.
