In 2015, the Regional Studies Association introduced an increased Research Network funding scheme which awards 5 Research Networks in 2015 and 2016 with up to £10,000 each.
RSA Research Networks are formed by RSA members interested in meeting to examine an issue that responds to the aims and goals of the Association and of interest and concern to members of the Association as well as non-members.

The 5 Research Networks selected in 2015 are as follows:

EU Cohesion Policy
Financial Geographies
Leadership and Urban and Regional Development
Migration, Inter-Connectivity and Regional Development
Smart City-Regional Governance for Sustainability
