Hola colega,
Regional studies in Colombia present several promising opportunities for research. One critical area is the analysis of territorial inequalities, focusing on the socio-economic disparities between urban and rural regions and their implications for inclusive development. Future research can explore the integration of community-based governance models in biodiversity hotspots and post-conflict zones to foster sustainable management of natural resources. Another up and coming dimension in the case of Colombia, is the application of geospatial analysis to assess urban expansion patterns, deforestation trends, and the impacts of land-use changes on local economies and ecosystems. Additionally, the intersection of decentralization policies, inclusive innovation and environmental governance offers fertile ground for examining how regional planning can address challenges like climate resilience and sustainable urban development.
