Mick Dunford is Emeritus Professor of Economic Geography at the University of Sussex, UK and Visiting Professor at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also Co-Managing Editor of the journal Area Development and Policy and former Editor in Chief of Regional Studies. He has published numerous books, chapters and articles on uneven development in Europe, global inequality and development and Chinese urban and regional geography. His recent research has focused on relations between Europe and China and a number of Chinese development issues, including the Chinese social model and China’s Belt and Road Initiative. At present he is working on a five-year project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
