Regional science in Ecuador
Regional Science in Ecuador has developed into an increasingly active and connected research community, supported by the Red Ecuatoriana de Ciencia Regional (RECIR). RECIR brings together researchers, academics, students, and institutions working on regional and territorial challenges, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and international collaboration. Through activities such as the Encuentro Nacional de Ciencia Regional (ENACIR), seminars, workshops, research meetings, and international events, RECIR promotes interdisciplinary research on topics including regional inequality, territorial development, migration, productivity, urban dynamics, wellbeing, sustainability, and spatial disparities. Its activities also provide a platform for early-career researchers and students to present their work and connect with scholars from Ecuador and abroad.
