Klorman Professor of Climate, Economics & Society
The newly launched School of Climate, Environment, and Society at Clark University invites applications for a full-time Associate or Full Professor to serve as the inaugural Klorman Professor of Climate, Economics & Society. We are seeking an academic leader in climate economics and particularly welcome candidates with expertise in climate finance and energy transitions to enhance and leverage the university’s strengths in these areas. This endowed position is expected to maintain a high-impact research portfolio and contribute to the school’s vibrant graduate and undergraduate programs.
With the launch of the School of Climate, Environment, and Society, this professorship is one of a cluster of newly endowed, school-wide positions designed to foster cross-departmental collaboration and partnerships that deliver real-world impact. The school is home to three academic departments (Economics, Geography, Sustainability and Social Justice), two research institutes (George Perkins Marsh Institute and Center for Geospatial Analytics), and additional affiliated faculty from Biology and other university departments. Significantly, the Department of Economics has chosen to become one of the school’s founding departments, acknowledging climate and global change as the defining challenge of our time. The school supports two Ph.D. programs (Economics and Geography), five master’s programs, and five undergraduate majors.
