At the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), we are working very actively to address all the dimensions of energy poverty in collaboration with the Chair of Energy and Poverty of Comillas Pontifical University (Madrid, Spain).
To extend this work into the design, planning and evaluation of just energy efficiency and community energy policies, we are looking for a candidate to develop a PhD thesis focusing on these issues and framed in an interdisciplinary research environment.
We offer a full-time contract for the completion of the PhD and its corresponding training activities. In addition, the IIT covers 90% of the fees for the training activities and will have access to all the services offered by the University (Gym and sports, Cultural Activities, Library, etc.).
The candidate must have a master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or related disciplines, with a strong interest in the social dimensions of energy systems, the most relevant being the issues related to energy poverty and housing retrofitting.
