Applications are now open for two fully-funded/salaried, 4-year PhD positions at the Sociology of Development and Change Group, Wageningen University, the Netherlands. The positions are part of the Dutch Research Council-funded project Sprawling Servers. We are recruiting one PhD to conduct 12 months of ethnographic research in Fiji, and one in Brazil. Both projects will focus on how residents engage with the promises for rural development that surround hyperscale data centers and related data infrastructures.
