The Regional Studies Association is delighted to welcome several new members to its journal editorial teams. We welcome the new co-editors of Area Development and Policy, who will guide the journal’s continued commitment to publishing research on development and territorial change worldwide. Regional Studies, Regional Science welcomes a new digital media editor and a media assistant, both of whom will help extend the reach of the journal’s open access research and connect its authors with wider audiences. Qiong He
University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Qiong was previously the Early Career Editor for ADP.
Qiong He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on socio-spatial-environmental inequalities, mobilities and urban (re)development, including residential segregation, housing choice and residential mobilities, urban and regional governance, and the critical geographies of AI and digital infrastructure. She earned her PhD in Urban Geography from the University of Amsterdam in 2022, worked as a Lecturer at the University of St Andrews and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hong Kong.
Justin Visagie
Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa
Justin Visagie is an Associate Professor at the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS) at the University of the Witwatersrand. His research focuses on urban and regional economies, industrial policy, and spatial inequality, with an emphasis on using administrative data. Before joining SCIS, he served as Chief Research Specialist at the Human Sciences Research Council and Director of Economic Planning in the Eastern Cape Government, South Africa. Justin has published widely on cities, migration, and firm productivity, and collaborates with international and local partners including the International Science Council, Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Agence française de développement, World Bank, South Africa’s National Treasury and across South African Local Government.

Kaixuan Huang

Kaixuan Huang is the Digital Editor of Regional Studies, Regional Science and a Boya Postdoctoral Fellow at the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University, China. She received her PhD in Economic Geography from the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on globalization and regional development, with particular interests in global production networks and the strategic coupling of the hotel and AI industries. She has served as the principal investigator of two national-level research projects and has published extensively in these fields.
Van Thi Quynh Anh (Anne Van)
Sun Yat-sen University, China
Van Thi Quynh Anh (Anne Van), a postgraduate student at Sun Yat-sen University, China, serves as the Media Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief at Regional Studies, Regional Science (RSRS). Her research interests focus on economic geography, global production networks, and tourism economic geography. Aligning her academic focus with her role in RSRS, she supports content publication and digital outreach to promote regional research and enhance the journal’s global engagement.
