We are delighted to announce a new partnership between the Regional Studies Association (RSA) and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
As part of this collaboration, the RSA will support the RCC’s upcoming conference Beyond GDP: Measuring Just and Green Transitions for Resilient and Inclusive Growth, which will take place in Sarajevo in November 2025.
This important event will critically explore alternatives to GDP-centric models of economic progress by highlighting the need for inclusive growth, environmental sustainability, and resilience. The conference supports the goals of the South East Europe 2030 Strategy, with a particular focus on just transitions and green development.
Bringing together regional and international policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, the conference will foster cross-sectoral dialogue and contribute to the global push for new metrics of progress—building on the momentum of the UN’s 2024 “Pact for the Future.”
The call for papers is now open, with a submission deadline of 4 August 2025. We invite contributions from scholars, policy experts, and practitioners working on post-GDP indicators, just transitions, resilience, and inclusive growth.
