We would like to wish everyone a happy International Women’s Day! The Regional Studies Association Women’s Network, set up by RSA members in 2018, is a vibrant community of women who work or study in the broad fields of regional studies and science. The RSA Women’s Network runs in-person and online events and workshops, supporting the international community across all career stages.
Forthcoming events include:
An online workshop Research by Women – Research on Women will explore the role of women in regional research, presenting research that highlights the role of women and girls at the regional scale. We will hear from two speakers: Costanza Giannantoni, who will discuss her research on women’s labour market outcomes, fertility choices, and domestic violence; and Chandrima Mukhopadhay who will discuss open questions in regional research questions in relation to urban mobility and gender. The event is online and will be a meeting format, and the audience will be invited to discuss their experience of researching gendered or women-specific topics, and the challenges and opportunities they have faced.
12 March 2025, 12.00 GMT, 13.00 CET Register here.
The RSA Annual Conference will have an in-person workshop running on the 9th of May. More details will be forthcoming next week, but the focus will be on women in publishing (and issues of co-authorship), and grant funding. The session will be informal and discussion-led.
