UK in a Changing Europe (UKICE)
Daniela (Deputy CEO of the Regional Studies Association), awarded the 2022 Media Communications in Regional Studies Award to Professor Anand Menon, Director of UK in a Changing Europe and Tara Zammit, Communications Officer, UK in a Changing Europe.
UK in a Changing Europe (UKICE), is a UK-wide network of academics and researchers coordinated from King’s College London. They promote high-quality and independent social science research on the broad theme of Brexit and its consequences. Their work includes politics and society, economics, law, governance and the constitution, the UK in the world, and UK-EU relations. They present research findings through events, workshops, debates, talks briefing papers, reports, blogs, social media and via the press. Their work is tailored to be easily accessible to policy makers, businesses, journalists, civil society organisations, educational institutions and the general public. UKICE is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of UK Research and Innovation.
The Media Communications in Regional Studies Award is a recognition of the best media communications across the regional field and science; and its importance to showcase research and data widely. Previous winners include Coffee Break With Researchers; POLITICO Europe, for the Brexit files; the Committee of the Regions and especially the work of Wolfgang Petzold in Belgium; the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) in the UK, and the John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Centre.
