Az RSA fontos csatornát jelent a magyar és a nemzetközi regionális tanulmányi (és tudományi) közösségek között. Az RSA-n keresztül a hazai kutatók hamar értesülhetnek a kulcsfontosságú nemzetközi trendekről és az RSA nemzetközi közössége is értesül a legfontosabb hazai kutatási, elméletalkotási eredményekről. A magyar RSA szekció fő célja a magyar regionalista hálózat növekedésének támogatása, az RSA kutatástámogatási lehetőségeinek promotálása. Az RSA Magyarországi Szekciója tájékoztatást nyújt az RSA tevékenységéről, ösztönzi a magyar részvételt az RSA rendezvényein és hálózataiban. Az RSA Magyarországi Szekciója részt vesz a helyben szervezett rendezvényeken és a helyi tudományos publikációkban. 2010-ben az RSA éves nemzetközi konferenciáját Pécsett rendezték meg az MTA RKK támogatásával.

RSA 60 Side event at the Annual Conference of the Hungarian Regional Science Association
30-31 October, 2025, Pannon University, Veszprém, Hungary
Several speakers from the Regional Studies Association celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the RSA. This was a side event to the Hungarian Regional Science Association Annual Conference. The Annual Conference is the largest event for regional researchers in Hungary, and will be an opportunity to highlight the relevancy between the two associations. See the Hungarian Event Report
