Sylvia Ying He is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management, Director of the Urban Studies Programme, and Director of the MS in Sustainable Urban Planning at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She serves as Vice Chair of the World Society for Transport and Land Use Research, Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies, and Board Member of the Transport Geography Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers. Sylvia has been ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists by Stanford/Elsevier since 2021 (for five consecutive years). In 2025, she published her first edited volume, Handbook on Transport in Asia (Edward Elgar Publishing), a comprehensive collection of 28 chapters written by 67 contributors from around the world.
