RSA 60th Anniversary Workshop: Inclusive Innovation in Northern England: Bridging Economic Development, Ecological Recovery and Social Equity

The Workshop will focus on the distinctive innovation ecosystems emerging across Northern England’s diverse city-regions, and their strategies to support inclusive growth within the context of changing central-local relations. The key themes of the workshop are:
- The changing dynamics of central-local relations in UK innovation policy
- Tensions and complementarities between economic competitiveness, ecological recovery and social inclusion in city region strategies
- The evolving role of universities as convenors of place-based partnerships
- Cross-regional learning and knowledge exchange within the North
This event also marks an important opportunity to reflect on six decades of regional studies scholarship and its influence on regional development practice.
