This Branch is currently looking for a new Chair – could it be you or someone you know?
We are looking for someone to fill the role of RSA Yorkshire and Humberside Branch Chair. We have around 70 RSA Territorial Representatives across the world as our Ambassadors and Branch, Section and Division Chairs. They are our champions in their territories, promoting the RSA’s work and informing the global RSA community on regional and urban developments in their area.
Please click to read the Branch Chair Guidelines 2019.
The role typically requires 3-6 hours of work per month. The person should have sufficient experience, enthusiasm and contacts in the Regional Studies field to be able to act as our “go-to” person in their territory and to spread the word about our work. It is usually, although not exclusively, filled by a person at the career stage of a mid-senior academic or practitioner.
In return, RSA Territorial Representatives are recognised at RSA events, are listed in the RSA’s academic journals, have a profile page on the RSA website, receive a certificate when appointed, receive a reduced conference fee for the RSA’s Annual Conference and are invited to the annual Territorial Representatives’ meeting which takes place during the RSA’s Annual Conference.
This year the RSA will be holding its annual conference in Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Entitled “Pushing Regions Beyond their Borders” it aims to examine regions beyond their traditional physical, mental and disciplinary limits. We are very much hoping to announce the appointment of the new Chair of the RSA Yorkshire and Humberside Branch at that conference.
Please note this is a voluntary unpaid role and the Chair would of course need to be a member of the RSA or willing to become one.
We invite you to nominate yourself or a colleague for this prestigious role. In the meantime if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to raise them with us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: The Yorkshire and Humberside Branch is a limited agent for the Regional Studies Association but without any authority to incur financial liability for that Association.
