Ignazio Cabras is Professor in Entrepreneurship and Regional Economic Development, Business and Management at Newcastle Business School.

He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Fellow of the Regional Studies Association (FeRSA). He is fully qualified with a BSc(Hons) and PhD in Economics, a MSc(Ebor) in Environmental Economics, a PgCert(Merit) in Business and Management Research Methods, and a PgCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PgCLTHE)

Before joining NBS, Ignazio worked at the universities of York, Edinburgh Napier, and Central Lancashire. His research interests are focused on economics and environment, with particular emphasis on regional growth and development, public sector management, employment issues, urban-rural dynamics, community cohesion and social capital, industry and innovation, knowledge economies and ICT.

Ignazio’s publication record includes more than 30 published works comprising journal articles, books and book chapters, and research reports. He peer-reviews articles for British and international scientific journals on regular basis, and seats in the Editorial Advisory Board of a Regional Studies Regional Science, International Journal of Public Sector Management, Education and Training, and Regions (co-Editor in Chief).

Ignazio is a proud member of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) and a big supporter of Cagliari, a football team which plays in the Italian Serie A (dai Casteddu!)
