Senior Researcher position (3y) at Transport Studies Unit, University of Oxford, Uk
The Transport Studies Unit (TSU) in the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford is looking to make a strategic Senior Researcher appointment to strengthen its reputation of international excellence in social science research on urban transport and mobility across the global North and South.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop an independent programme of research that is informed by the latest scholarship in Geography and cognate social sciences on one or more of the following themes related to urban transport and mobility:
- health and well-being
- energy, climate and environment
- the politics and governance of mobility
- everyday mobilities, inequality and justice
Applications from across the full spectrum of research methodologies are invited, and those from researchers working with digital/big data or critical/qualitative GIS are particularly encouraged.
The post holder will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, together with significant post-qualification research experience and a strong publication record. They are expected to build their own team of researchers within the wider TSU environment. An important part of the post holder’s role will be to acquire research grants to fund their research programme. The post is full-time for 3 years, and more information is available here.
