An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious interdisciplinary researcher with excellent qualitative research skills to join the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR), one of the UK’s leading academic centres for applied policy research, on a fixed term basis (20 months).
The successful candidate will contribute to a fast-growing programme of research focused on zero carbon economy and enterprise, primarily working on two UKRI funded projects: South Yorkshire Sustainability Centre (just transitions work programme, including research on work futures in a sustainable economy; and just transitions for SMEs) and GOZERO (SME governance for net zero).
The balance of your activity between those two projects will be determined by your own expertise and research interests. You will also contribute to development of a programme of knowledge exchange on zero carbon economy and enterprise, working across the University and with regional stakeholders.
This post is suitable for a post-doctoral or similarly experienced researcher. You may have a background in either the social sciences, humanities or arts but will be experienced in interdisciplinary working and qualitative data collection. Ideally you will have experience of working with different stakeholders and partners to build relationships and collect high quality data using qualitative methods. An interest in just transitions, social and spatial implications of economic change, or small and medium enterprise sustainability is desirable.
This role will include travel in the UK with potential for international travel.
