Researcher Vacancy – Social and sustainable business, ESRC Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity and Middlesex University, UK

The ESRC Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity and Middlesex University seek to appoint a researcher to carry out research on alternative business and investment for wellbeing and sustainability. The research will examine the forms of business and social enterprise that enable people everywhere to have the capability to flourish as human beings—within the ecological and resource constraints of a finite planet. The post will combine work for the ESRC investment in CUSP with other related projects on social and sustainability ethics in small business.

The successful candidate will hold a higher degree in a relevant discipline. You will have completed or be working towards a PhD, or have other equivalent research experience. You will have knowledge of social and sustainable business and investment. You will also have experience of collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, in order to help carry out primary data collection, academic writing and work with external partners. The person appointed will work as part of a well-established team of experienced researchers specialising in small business, social enterprise and social investment within the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research at Middlesex University.

For informal enquiries in relation to the post, please get in touch with Fergus Lyon. For application details, please see the Middlesex website.
