Research Assistant in Urban Mobility, Transport Studies Unit (TSU), University of Oxford, UK

At the Transport Studies Unit (TSU) at the University of Oxford we are recruiting a Research Assistant to work on two Innovate UK grants – Park and Charge (PNC) and Vehicle to Grid Oxford (V2GO). The position is full-time for 18 months, and available from 1 September 2019. More details are available at: https://my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecruit/erq_jobspec_details_form.jobspec?p_id=141957.

The successful applicant will join two industry led consortia with the University of Oxford as one of the partners. The PNC project will trial a technological and business model design that provides overnight charging in car parks to electric vehicle users without off-street charging possibilities, while V2GO is a large-scale trial project of vehicle-to-grid technologies for vehicle fleets in and around Oxfordshire. The post holder will work on monitoring and evaluation in both projects. Duties include collecting and analysing survey data. The post provides the opportunity to participate in practical innovation projects, while performing rigorous academic research.

We encourage applications from graduates or early-career researchers with a background in transport geography, urban planning, sustainability transitions, energy research and related fields. Circulation of this vacancy among potential candidates is highly appreciated.

Applications should be made online, and the closing date for applications is 12.00 noon, UK time on Friday 23 August 2019. Please contact Tim Schwanen (tim.schwanen@ouce.ox.ac.uk) and Toon Meelen (toon.meelen@ouce.ox.ac.uk) for informal inquiries.
