Regional Performances of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Sub-Saharan, July 2018

INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE

Regional Performances of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Sub-Saharan

Since the impetus given to the quest for a reduction in global greenhouse gases emission towards the abatement of global climate change in  Paris, many countries,  and indeed regional blocks particularly in sub-Saharan Africa have commitments in ensuring that their intended nationally determined contributions towards keeping global temperature between 1.5°C  and 2°C at maximum. In view of this commitment, it is essential to assess the efforts and gains made so far, by a continent that is so affected by climate change at all dimensions of human endeavors. Much as the enthusiasm and commitments to 'succeed' have been demonstrated, it is essential to create platforms that would afford stakeholders from industry, government, academia and  regional institutions, the opportunity for brainstorming and evaluation of national and sub-regional strategies, resources, achievements and challenges, for streamlining and sustainability. In ascertaining this, a regional comparison, from regional economic development areas essential and imperative in learning and sharing experiences from each other.
