We are looking for a candidate for a PhD position on the politics of EU climate policies, particularly those that are a part of the EU’s Green Deal. The PhD is focused on the ways in which EU climate policies, for example in relation to energy and heating, phase out of coal, ‘just’ transition or agriculture and food security, are contested in subnational regional and local contexts. You would create your own research proposal as part of the application (specifying which EU policy area and which subnational contexts you would focus on), and we are especially interested in candidates with a passion for climate change politics and the ways in which policies are politically contested and constructed at different geographical scales.
The post would be based on an employment contract of 4 years and based in Amsterdam. The deadline is 31st March 2024. More information can be found here: https://vacatures.uva.nl/UvA/job/PhD-Position-in-European-Studies-The-Politics-of-EU-Climate-Policies/785839002/.
