Managing Editor: Academic Publications, Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), UK

Job opportunity at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) – Managing Editor: Academic Publications

Dr Fiona Nash, the Society’s Managing Editor for Academic Publications, will be leaving the Society in mid-August to retrain as a clinical psychologist and relocate to Bristol. Fiona has been at the Society for five years and done an outstanding job in her role, highly valued by Editors, reviewers, authors, and our publishing partners Wiley, the Society (and particularly me!). To allow an overlap, we’re advertising the role now (ideally to start mid/late July).

Managing Editor: Academic Publications  to oversee the publication of the Society’s academic journals and books, which currently include the journals Area, Geo: Geography and Environment, The Geographical Journal, Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers and WIREs Climate Change, and the RGS-IBG Book Series, all published in partnership with Wiley. This position would suit a dynamic, hard-working and very well organised individual with experience and interest in publishing and in academic geography (trained to Masters or ideally PhD level). This is a permanent appointment subject to successful completion of a probationary period of four months. Please read the full job description and guidance on how to apply. Applications must be received by 5.00pm on 17 June 2019
