MA/PhD Studentship in the Department of Geography at the University of Delaware

We invite applications for a funded graduate research assistantship (MA/PhD in Geography) in the Department of Geography at the University of Delaware beginning in fall 2019. This RA position will support an ongoing project centered on the geopolitics of infant feeding and the lactating body. This research includes qualitative and quantitative data gathering focused on the uses of donor human milk as a medical intervention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; perceptions and understandings of breastfeeding, the lactating body, and the use of donor human milk pre- and post-NICU experience; variations in experience, access to, and use of donor human milk and breastfeeding in NICU settings. As part of the project, the RA will collect and analyze data, participate in publication writing, as well as attend conferences and workshops.

Qualifications: Suitable backgrounds for applicants include a BA or MA in Geography, Women and Gender Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, or related fields. Priority will be given to students with previous research and publishing experience.
