The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Human Geography. The successful candidate will deliver on our MGeog, BSc Geography and Geology and Physical Geography programs and will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students on our newly formed Masters by Research (MRes). We are seeking a candidate with a PhD in any aspect of Human Geography however we are keen to receive applications from suitably qualified candidates in Rural Geography or Sustainable Development. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of effective, high quality teaching and scholarly activity and undertake applied research, knowledge transfer and income generation activities. The candidate will be able to deliver both qualitative and quantitative methods and make a significant contribution to our extensive regional, national and international fieldwork. They will have a research profile in Human Geography and will expected to contribute to the School’s research profile. While seeking candidates with H.E. Lecturing experience, we will consider applications from newly qualified PhD’s. The post holder must be willing to undertake the Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching or equivalent as part of a probationary period if they do not have an applicable teaching qualification.
